My hometown's birthday

31st of May will mark the 712th anniversary of the founding of my hometown of Surabaya, I believe it is the oldest city in our country (Indonesia) ne? Even the country's capital of Jakarta is only less than 500 years old IIRC.

The city hall was crowded last weekend with people having parties, and yesterday they had fireworks and marching band over there. My house is just one minute walk from the city hall... so it was pretty loud :P

I hope they're not planning on having a month-long celebration eh? it's still 29 more days till the 31st.... >_>;

But I think the celebration yesterday was for Mayday? hmmm

I like Japanese tongue twisters

Try and say this repeatedly 10 times as fast as you can ;)

Romanji: Tonari no kyaku wa yoku kaki kuu kyaku da.
Original: 隣の客は良く柿食う客だ。
Translation: My neighbor's guest is a guest that often eats persimmons.

That was the first Japanese tongue twister I encountered from watching Japanese TV shows, I like it, there are many more out there, you can probably find a lot online too.
